Cochise County Treasurer Kathy Trawick told KWCD's First Watch that residents should have received property tax bills or a mortgage-holder postcard, and reminded taxpayers about upcoming deadlines and payment options.
"If they haven't received their tax bill, they are able to go online, pay them online if they want or they can just look at their tax amount, write a check, put the invoice, the parcel number on it and send it to us," Trawick said. She advised that the first-half payment becomes delinquent Nov. 1, and that paying the full year by Dec. 31 prevents interest from accruing on the first half.
Trawick recommended visiting the Cochise County website for details about amounts and online payment options and to find the parcel number needed when mailing checks.
Why it matters: Timely payments avoid penalties; mortgage payers who pay through an escrow account may instead receive a postcard confirming payment arrangements. Trawick said the treasurer's office can issue receipts and answer questions via the county's official web pages.
Ending: Residents who have not received a bill were advised to check online or contact the treasurer's office; Trawick framed the guidance as routine county fiscal administration.
