Three formal items were recorded during the Oct. 9 Austin ISD meeting:

- Monitoring report accepted: The board voted unanimously to accept the Goal 2 monitoring report (third‑grade numeracy). Motion by Trustee Quintana; second by Trustee Hunter. Outcome: approved by all trustees present.

- TCAD nominations: The board approved a resolution to nominate two candidates to the Travis Central Appraisal District (TCAD) Board of Directors; the district will submit nominees to TCAD by Oct. 14 and the board plans to allocate votes at its Nov. 20 meeting. Motion to approve by Trustee Hunter; second by Trustee Quintana. Outcome: approved by all trustees on the dais.

- Transfer appeal denied: After executive session the board reconvened and denied a transfer appeal on behalf of VM, affirming the superintendent’s decision. Motion by Trustee Gonzales; second by Trustee De Uruysta. Outcome: motion carried unanimously.

Ending: The board recessed into executive session for personnel and legal matters and returned to open session late for the transfer appeal action before adjourning the meeting.
