Decatur County Commissioners voted Sept. 26 to approve a final commitment letter for the Community Crossings Matching Grant (CCMG) 2026 that uses county local road funds to meet the grant match requirement.
Staff told the board the State Board of Accounts recently issued guidance allowing counties to use local road and street funds as the local match for grant programs. The board agreed to transfer $250,000 from the local road and street fund into the local road and bridge matching grant fund; the county’s CCMG application lists a $1,000,000 grant request with a required local match of $250,000, making the total project value $1,250,000. Commissioners voted to approve the final commitment letter by voice vote after a motion and second.
Staff will complete the final commitment documentation for the CCMG 2026 application per the state directive and the board’s authorization.
