Chase County Commissioners reviewed two ambulance debt cancellation resolutions Sept. 9 but asked county staff for more information before approving any write-offs. Chair Jacci Brown said she wanted additional explanations attached to each debt amount listing why the county did not collect.
Ambulance Administrator Jordan Beard presented two debt cancellation resolutions for the board’s consideration and explained she did not have necessary information from the third‑party billing agency to produce the monthly ambulance report. Brown directed Beard to prepare and submit the ambulance monthly report at the board’s second meeting of each month.
Before approving any write-offs, the board instructed Beard to revise the proposed resolutions to include notation on each debt amount explaining the reason for noncollection (for example: timely filing issues, lapse in licensing, no supplemental payment, Medicaid, VA). The resolutions were not approved at the meeting and were to be returned for action at a later date after the requested clarifications were added.
The transcript records no dollar amounts attached to the two proposed write‑offs in the motions, and no motions were made or votes recorded to adopt the resolutions on Sept. 9.
