The committee voted to grant Bankston Land Management a second extension of its special-use permit for rural events at 11332 West Raleigh Road in Green Garden Township (County Board District 3).

County planning staff told the committee the special-use permit, originally approved by the county board in March 2023, included ancillary liquor service; the applicant has already hosted permitted events and is in the process of completing required site-development and building-code improvements. Staff said the applicant recently submitted updated plans but they remain deficient; staff is hopeful the outstanding items will be resolved within the extension period.

Committee members expressed support for allowing the applicant additional time to finish required work, noting prior community support for the venue and that the extension process provides additional opportunities for the applicant to obtain the permits and improvements needed for long-term operation.

The committee approved the extension by roll call. Staff will continue review of updated plans and issue site-development and building permits once code deficiencies are addressed.
