The committee agreed Oct. 8 to prioritize a dedicated tricentennial website and printed handouts for upcoming outreach.
A volunteer, Michelle, said the town IT department already registered a URL; the committee discussed hosting options including WordPress and Square and recommended a WordPress site for flexibility with Bloomerang integration. The website will host an email signup (tricentennial300@townemail), links to social media, sponsorship information and a store or donation interface via Bloomerang.
For immediate outreach at Heritage Day, members approved printing an 8.5x11 tabletop flyer (and a postcard draft) containing a QR code that will link to the town-hosted tricentennial page and to newsletter signups. Committee members also discussed producing window clings or stickers for local businesses to promote the tricentennial and noted a need to give a volunteer access to the tricentennial email account for administration.
Members emphasized that sponsorship logos and levels will need to be displayed on the site, and that Bloomerang functionality for ticketing and sponsorship management requires a website landing page (hosted URL) to serve as the “view in browser” location for fundraising emails.
A member offered to coordinate the initial website build with other volunteers; the IT-registered URL will be parked and the committee will decide hosting and ownership details circling back to town administration and the Friends group for fundraising functions.
