Several La Habra business owners and the La Habra Chamber president addressed the council during public comment on Oct. 20 urging the city to partner with the local chamber of commerce rather than centralize services with the North Orange County Regional Chamber.

Chirag Patel, owner of Hundred Percent Chiropractic and a chamber board member, asked the council to clarify what unique services a regional chamber based in Buena Park would offer to local businesses and questioned claims that membership could be free. “Now being a small business owner, there's nothing free here. There's always a cost,” Patel said.

Rich Trujillo, owner of Trujillo and Daughters Farmers Insurance Agency, told the council “we're better together” and urged reconsideration of past disagreements so the centennial La Habra Chamber of Commerce can continue networking and ribbon‑cutting support for local businesses.

Mary Bosch, owner of the new La Habra Grocery Outlet, and Lynette Falcon, president of the La Habra Chamber of Commerce, also urged partnership and noted the chamber’s century‑long role in community networking and events. Falcon said she previously requested city participation and asked the council to reconsider.

Council members acknowledged the comments and thanked the business leaders for attending; no formal action or vote took place on chamber affiliation tonight.
