At a recess of the Board of County Commissioners acting as the Douglas County Liquor Board, the panel approved two licensing items unanimously.

Maverick packaged retail liquor license (Agenda item 7.1): Captain Stork of the Sheriff’s Office reported that the applicant had completed required paperwork and that the Sheriff’s Office did not oppose the application. The board voted to approve a packaged retail liquor license for Maverick Incorporated (DBA Maverick #634), located at 1301 North Highway 395, Gardnerville, Nevada, pending issuance of a certificate of occupancy. The motion was moved by Commissioner Gardner, seconded by Commissioner Tolbert; the vote carried unanimously.

Tahoe Event Center license addition (Agenda item 7.2): The board also approved adding William R. Vandenberg Jr. to the existing on-site unrestricted license, caterer’s license and entertainment endorsement for Global Spectrum LP (DBA Tahoe Event Center) at 75 US Highway 50, Stateline. Captain Stork again advised there was no opposition from the Sheriff’s Office. Commissioner Gardner moved the approval, Commissioner Tarkanian seconded, and the board carried the motion unanimously.

Ending: The Liquor Board returned to the full Board of County Commissioners after the approvals. No restrictive conditions beyond those noted were imposed by the Liquor Board at this meeting.
