Detective Sloan of the Nixa Police Department reported in a weekly wrap-up that the department handled 598 calls for service and made seven arrests.
The summary, delivered on the department's weekly report, said officers conducted 208 traffic stops and deployed a police canine once. The department recorded six motor vehicle crashes, two of which resulted in injuries. Of the seven arrests, one was a felony and the remainder were misdemeanors; Sloan said the department made two driving-while-intoxicated arrests and two warrant arrests.
The report also included a recruitment appeal. "If you're interested in being a cop or you're already a cop somewhere else, you like to come to look at joining the Nixa Police Department, please come to our website, join nixapd.com," Sloan said.
The wrap-up is a regular brief meant to summarize weekly public-safety activity; Sloan closed the segment by saying, "we'll see you next week."
