The city manager announced that a projection vendor has been booked to present projections on City Hall for several dates around Halloween: Oct. 24, Oct. 25, Oct. 30 and Nov. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., with an estimated cost of $10,000 or less.
The manager said the announcement was posted on the city website and social media, and that the projection event is intended to fill a programming gap after the cancellation of the larger Halloween event earlier this year.
The city manager also announced that Winter Garden was selected as a top-five performer in the 2025 Polco "Best in Governance" awards for community connection, chosen from about 300 participating communities. The manager said Winter Garden will compete for the national champion designation at the International City/County Management Association conference in Tampa, where winners are to be announced Oct. 27.
The commission thanked staff for the work and congratulated the manager and staff on the recognition. No formal action was required on either announcement.
