At its regular meeting the Lansing USD 469 Board of Education approved several administrative and governance items, recorded in the meeting minutes as formal votes.

Consent agenda and time-limit votes
The board approved the consent agenda and also voted to extend public-comment time for several speakers (motions to permit extra minutes were made and approved during the hearing of the audience).

Anime club constitution
The board considered item 7.1, the constitution for a proposed Lansing High School anime club. Trustees discussed whether permission slips and a sample supervisor permission form were attached; staff said permission slips typically accompany constitutions but the copy on the board packet did not include it. Trustees clarified that the club is student-led (not school-sponsored) and that adults providing after-school supervision would be paid an hourly supervision rate rather than a supplemental sponsor stipend. The board amended the constitution language to limit membership to students (removing wording that could be read to allow any person) and approved the constitution with the amendment and with a direction to add the required permission slip.

Supplemental-salary study committee
The board assigned its negotiations committee (the district’s three-person negotiations committee) to serve as the supplemental-salary study group that will compare coaching and extracurricular pay to surrounding districts. The committee is to begin work in October so results can inform spring negotiations.

Personnel actions
Following executive session the board approved a list of new hires and transfers and accepted several resignations and exits. The board’s public motion listed new hires and transfers by name (aides, custodians, bus staff, paraprofessionals, a long-term substitute and others) and approved the exits that staff presented; the vote carried by roll call.

Adoption of hearing officer decision
After executive session the board moved to adopt the hearing officer’s decision and approved that motion by roll call.
