The Whiteland Parks and Recreation Board voted 4-0 to ratify a $336 accounts-payable voucher to join the Indiana Parks and Recreation Association and approved minutes from a prior meeting, board members said at the meeting.
Carmen, town staff responsible for finance, told the board that “there was 1 accounts payable voucher that was issued back in June ... to join the Indiana Parks and Rec Association in the amount of $336.” She added that membership spending is within the board’s budget: “We had budgeted, $500 for memberships.”
Board members moved and seconded the ratification and then took a voice vote. Chair Shane Stidham, Dale Gick, Joshua Henry and Meghan Kane all voted “yes,” yielding a 4-0 tally.
Board members also approved the minutes from the July meeting by voice vote. The meeting packet note and discussion clarified that the pending membership voucher had not been previously ratified because the board’s August meeting was canceled and there was no meeting in September; the June voucher was therefore being ratified at the first subsequent meeting.
Members discussed the status of financial reports. Board members noted the reports are reviewed by the board as informational materials rather than items that require formal approval during the meeting.
No additional formal spending measures or program approvals were taken during the session.
The board scheduled routine review of meeting minutes and financials at future meetings and closed the item.
