Lehi County s Finance Committee on Oct. 2 voted to award a $1,661,599 construction contract to Curb and Gutter Professionals for IFB 26002, the Old Jessup Road improvement project, with funding provided from the county s 2022 referendum funds.
The project targets the most deteriorated segments of Old Jessup Road, with a primary focus on segment 5 near the Walker Road and Scranton Road area. The county presenter described the plan to widen the roadway by about four feet total, add a four-foot shoulder, install curb and gutter and construct a sidewalk to improve pedestrian connectivity from Scranton Connector to Walker Road.
"So this specific construction contract will widen the roadway by about 4 feet, total and also produce a 4 foot shoulder. On top of that, we'll have curb and gutter and then a sidewalk," the Project presenter said. The presenter said the project team expects to deliver the work about $200,000 under the project's slot budget (the slot budget was $2,100,000 and the overall expected total about $1.9 million) and reported the contract award amount of $1,661,599.
The presenter said the official award will go to the full board at the next meeting and that the county typically requires two to three weeks to execute the contract after award; staff estimated physical work could begin in roughly two months. A commissioner praised the award as a priority for the district and said constituents frequently ask when work will take place.
A motion to approve the contract award carried on a voice vote.
The motion and subsequent discussion recorded the contractor, IFB number and funding source. Staff did not report additional funding breakdowns, construction schedule milestones beyond the two-month estimate, or expected traffic impacts during construction in the committee meeting transcript.
