The Mahoning County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 2 to approve a series of agreements, change orders and resolutions covering routine county contracts, emergency repairs and a sheriff’s vehicle purchase, and to appoint two people to the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

The board approved annual and project agreements spanning the auditor’s office, the county engineer, sanitary services and public-safety equipment purchases. The approvals included an Office Depot contract to process 2026 dog-license renewal notices for an estimated $2,778.63 and a $30,000 estimated contract with Davey Tree Expert Company for tree setting and trimming, both presented during the meeting.

Auditor Stacy described the Office Depot item on the record: “This is, an annual agreement with Office Depot to process the 2026 dog license renewal notices and the estimated amount of $2,778.63 general fund.” County engineering staff presented MOUs allocating road tax to participating townships and a change order for the Western Reserve Road widening project. Sanitary staff brought agreements for emergency repairs and equipment maintenance, including a $12,000 estimate for TV-inspection repairs and a $13,680 estimate for rebuilding two concrete buffer tanks.

The board also approved a resolution of necessity to acquire two 2025 Ford F-150 trucks for the sheriff’s office through Fairway Ford at an estimated total of $93,172. Sheriff’s staff described the resolution as a purchase necessity for department operations.

On appointments, commissioners approved the appointment of Luciano Cardillo and the reappointment of Andrea Patton to four-year terms on the Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities effective Jan. 1, 2026. Commissioners said the appointees are volunteers who serve without compensation on the board; the appointments passed on roll call.

Motions to approve agreements a–i, change orders, and resolutions a–i were made, seconded and adopted by roll call. The meeting transcript shows affirmative roll-call responses from the commissioners for the recorded votes; no recorded formal dissent was entered for these agenda items.
