The decision comes after inspections revealed that the gravel used was not permitted under city regulations, which specify that only certain types of rock, such as pebble rock or egg rock, are allowed for ground cover.

During the meeting, the Special Magistrate reviewed the case, which began with a complaint regarding the improper parking of an RV on a surface deemed non-solid. The property owner, Mr. Yourofsky, had initially used lime rock for compaction, which was found to be too large for the intended use. After two inspections, city officials confirmed that the gravel did not meet the required standards and posed potential drainage issues, as it did not match the grade of neighboring properties.

The city’s engineering inspector noted that the existing grade was causing erosion into adjacent yards, necessitating corrective action. Mr. Yourofsky was instructed to remove the gravel, regrade the area to align with his neighbor's yard, and resod the space with topsoil.
