Improvements to Flower Mound's Shadow Ridge Trail are set to kick off soon, with plans for a wider, upgraded pathway that aims to enhance safety and accessibility for local residents. During the Parks Board meeting on October 2, officials discussed the timeline for these enhancements, indicating that the project could see completion by summer 2026.
The proposed upgrades will replace existing narrower trails with a six-foot-wide path, addressing compliance issues and improving connectivity within the area. Board members expressed optimism about the project, emphasizing that while the timeline may seem lengthy, progress is indeed being made.
In addition to the trail improvements, the meeting highlighted the recent completion of Oak Bridal Park, developed by Toll Brothers. This new park will serve as a community space for picnics and recreational activities, with maintenance handled by the developer until it transitions to the homeowners' association. The park's name is set to be officially approved by the council on October 20.
As the Parks Board continues to prioritize community needs, these developments signal a commitment to enhancing public spaces in Flower Mound, ensuring that residents can enjoy safe and accessible outdoor environments.
