In a recent Special Magistrate Hearing held in Fort Pierce, St. Lucie County, the city addressed multiple cases of property violations that pose threats to public health and safety. The meeting, which took place on October 1, 2025, focused on several properties that failed to meet local landscaping and maintenance standards.
One of the key cases involved a property at 435 Dundas Court, owned by Willie D. Rose. The city presented evidence of violations related to landscaping requirements for properties under three acres. The property had been inspected on September 30, 2025, following a notice of violation sent out earlier in the month. The city determined that the property was a nuisance and ordered Rose to clear overgrown grass, weeds, and debris within seven days. Failure to comply would result in a daily fine of $100.
Another significant case was against GTA Investment Group, LLC, for a property located at 423 North Twelfth Street. Similar violations were noted, and the city mandated that the property be brought into compliance within the same seven-day timeframe, with the same penalties for non-compliance.
The hearing also addressed a property at 427 North Twelfth Street, owned by Priscilla H. Robinson. This case included both landscaping violations and a board-up notice due to unsafe building conditions. The city required Robinson to secure all openings of the building within ten days, again with fines for any delays.
Throughout the hearing, city officials emphasized the importance of maintaining properties to ensure community safety and welfare. Each violator was given the opportunity to appeal the decisions within 30 days, highlighting the city's commitment to due process while addressing these nuisance conditions.
As Fort Pierce continues to tackle property maintenance issues, the outcomes of these cases will play a crucial role in shaping the community's approach to urban upkeep and public safety. The city remains vigilant in enforcing its ordinances, ensuring that residents adhere to standards that protect the health and well-being of all.
