In a recent meeting of the Lititz Borough Council, significant funding decisions were made that will enhance local infrastructure and community services. The council approved two resolutions that will allocate a total of $805,000 in grants for essential projects.

The first resolution, approved unanimously, secures a local share assessment grant of $465,000 for the replacement of the roof at the water treatment plant. This upgrade is crucial for maintaining the facility's operations and ensuring the delivery of clean water to residents.

The second resolution, also receiving unanimous support, allocates $340,000 for the purchase of a new street sweeper. This equipment will help improve the cleanliness and maintenance of borough streets, contributing to a healthier and more attractive community environment.

In addition to these funding approvals, the council discussed the county's planning investment area initiative. This multiyear process aims to evaluate regional growth boundaries to protect farmland and natural lands while accommodating development. The council expressed support for designating the area from Kissel Hill South to the airport as a potential investment area. This designation does not commit the borough to any specific development but opens the door for future discussions with neighboring townships about the corridor's development.
