Minnetonka Schools Honor Students and Staff at September Board Meeting

The September 4, 2025, meeting of the Minnetonka Public Schools Board commenced with a series of recognitions celebrating achievements within the district. The meeting began with acknowledgments from the Pitt Orchestra, highlighting the contributions of staff advisers who support students in producing impactful theater productions. Special congratulations were extended to students Sam Rose Warren and Charlie Welch, who received nominations as Bridal Threat honorees through the Hennepin Arts Spotlight Showcase Program. Warren notably won at the state level and represented Minnesota at the National Ghibby Awards in New York City.

The board also recognized the Minnetonka Public Schools for achieving the Association of School Business Officials' certificate of excellence in financial reporting for the thirtieth consecutive year. This award underscores the district's commitment to transparency and high-quality financial practices, with commendations directed towards the finance and operations team led by Executive Director Paul Bourgeois.

Additionally, the district's communications team was celebrated for earning 13 national awards from the National School Public Relations Association. These accolades included seven top awards of excellence, four awards of merit, and two honorable mentions, recognizing their outstanding work in various communication areas such as print publications, social media strategy, and video production.

Following the recognition segment, the meeting transitioned to formal proceedings, with the board welcoming new student representatives Chip Scott and Zane Kasim. The agenda was adopted unanimously, and the floor was opened for community comments, marking the beginning of the official board meeting discussions.
