Residents of Parkland will soon receive important information regarding the city's budget as the City Commission prepares for upcoming public hearings. During a recent workshop, officials outlined the timeline for the budget process, which includes the adoption of the final assessments, millage rate, and budget.

In July, the commission approved preliminary maximum rates for the millage and three assessments, which will be detailed in the Truth in Millage (TRIM) notices mailed to residents this month. A workshop was held last week to engage residents and provide clarity on the budget process.

The first formal public hearing is scheduled for Friday, September 12, at 5:01 PM, adhering to state regulations regarding meeting times. The second hearing will take place on September 24, coinciding with a regular commission meeting. These hearings are crucial as they will finalize the budget and set the financial direction for the city.
