A special use permit for a psychic chakra shop in York County is on the verge of approval, following a recent Planning Commission meeting. Jacqueline Marks, the owner of the shop located at 7812 George Washington Memorial Highway, is seeking to expand her business to include fortune-telling services, which require specific zoning compliance.

The shop, which has been operating since 2021, currently offers services such as psychic readings, chakra balancing, and spiritual life coaching, alongside retail sales of metaphysical items. Marks emphasized her commitment to the community and adherence to zoning regulations during her presentation to the commission.

The Planning Commission reviewed the application, noting that the business aligns with the county's goals of fostering small business development and enhancing the local economy. The proposed operation will include adequate parking, with plans for five standard spaces and one handicap space, meeting the required zoning standards.
