In response, city officials plan to leverage technology to address this issue in the future and have communicated with parents through social media to raise awareness.

As the summer concluded, the city initiated a back-to-school operation, increasing patrols in school zones to promote safety and reduce aggressive driving. Additionally, school resource officers (SROs) were equipped with rifle shields and entry tools to enhance security readiness.

Crime statistics over the summer were described as sporadic, with no significant trends identified. However, there were instances of car break-ins, often linked to residents leaving their vehicles unlocked or key fobs inside. Law enforcement reported a recent auto theft case where two individuals were arrested after claiming they borrowed the vehicle.

The meeting underscored the city's commitment to community safety and proactive measures to address emerging challenges. Residents were reminded to secure their vehicles and remain vigilant as the new school year begins.
