The Gallatin City Council has approved the Fox and Master Development Plan, which will see the construction of 848 residential units in the Fox and Harbor area. This decision marks a significant step in the development of the waterfront district, although it will ultimately result in 98 fewer units than initially proposed.

The developer has committed to improving Douglas Bend Road to facilitate this project, ensuring better access for future residents. The revised plan includes a mix of residential and commercial spaces, featuring a new marina, public plaza, and neighborhood retail options. Notably, the number of luxury condominiums has been reduced from 210 to 112, reflecting a shift in the project’s scope.

During the meeting, traffic concerns were a major focus. The developers presented plans for a new access point on Douglas Bend Road, which includes a dedicated left turn lane to improve traffic flow. Additionally, they proposed upgrades to key intersections to enhance safety and efficiency, including the potential installation of a roundabout at a critical junction.

Parking requirements for the development have also been addressed. The project will provide 458 parking spaces, exceeding the city’s requirement of 455, and these spaces will be available for all users of the Foxland campus.

The council's approval of the Fox and Master Development Plan is expected to enhance community access to the lakefront and support local economic growth through increased residential and commercial activity. As the project moves forward, city officials and developers will continue to collaborate on traffic management and infrastructure improvements to ensure the successful integration of the new development into the existing community.
