Starting in January 2024, residents can expect to see contractors from Ameresco and Pedal Valves Incorporated replacing old water meters with new smart technology, known as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters. This initiative aims to enhance the accuracy of water consumption data, providing residents with detailed insights into their usage.

The project will unfold over the coming months, with contractors working Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 7 PM, and potentially on Saturdays if necessary. Before any installation, contractors will knock on residents' doors to explain the process and request that water usage be paused for approximately 30 minutes. If no one is home, they will check for water usage and may return later if needed.

Once the installation begins, contractors will not enter homes but will replace the existing meters outside. If an outdoor faucet is accessible, they will flush the water lines post-installation. Residents will receive door hangers detailing the work completed and any necessary follow-up actions, such as flushing the lines themselves if the faucet was not accessible.
