A vibrant community spirit is set to shine as the Saint Paul AME Church gears up for its 205th anniversary celebration. During a recent Board of Adjustment meeting, church leaders highlighted their ongoing outreach efforts and plans to deepen their impact within the Lexington community.

The church is actively involved in various ministry programs, including a community fair aimed at providing essential resources. Leaders emphasized their commitment to supporting local initiatives, such as the New Life Day Center, where they have been supplying necessary items. Additionally, they are launching a food outreach ministry to serve those in need, particularly the homeless who frequent their campus.

As the anniversary approaches, excitement is building. Plans include a prayer breakfast the Saturday before the big day, inviting church members and their families, along with pastors from neighboring congregations, to join in the festivities. A special souvenir booklet will be created, chronicling the church's rich history from its founding in 1820, including its significant role in the Underground Railroad.
