To improve the situation, the member proposed a solution involving the establishment of a dedicated cleanup team for specific neighborhoods, particularly in East Toledo. This team would conduct regular cleanups, similar to a previous successful initiative that removed over 300 piles of trash in just five hours.

The proposal emphasized the benefits of having a consistent cleanup crew, which would reduce resident complaints and streamline the process of maintaining neighborhood cleanliness. Additionally, the member suggested implementing a new work schedule for city employees, advocating for a shift to four 10-hour workdays instead of five 8-hour days. This change, they argued, could enhance productivity, reduce vehicle wear and tear, and improve employee satisfaction.

Concerns were also raised about systemic issues within the current waste management system, including broken garbage cans and inadequate service from contractors. The committee discussed the need for better coordination and communication to address these ongoing problems effectively.

The meeting underscored the importance of proactive measures in maintaining Toledo's neighborhoods and the potential for improved operational strategies to enhance community satisfaction.
