One of the primary actions taken was the authorization for the Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) to amend its joint services agreement with Downtown Indy Incorporated. This amendment includes an additional $10,000 in compensation, bringing the total agreement amount to a maximum of $1,360,000. This funding is intended to support ongoing initiatives in the downtown area.
Additionally, the commission approved the conveyance of property at 900 East 64th Street to the Department of Parks and Recreation at no cost. This transfer is aimed at facilitating redevelopment efforts that align with the interests of Indianapolis residents.
The DMD was also authorized to convey title or an option to purchase property at 1128 North Ewing Street to Key 2 Destiny, LLC, under specific agreement terms. This move is part of the city's strategy to promote economic development in targeted areas.
Furthermore, the MDC held a public hearing regarding the Oxford Row Economic Development Area, located in Council District 12. A resolution was passed pledging tax increment financing from this area to support the payment of certain economic development revenue bonds.
In another significant decision, the commission approved an extension of an agreement related to parking for downtown events, which is expected to enhance accessibility and convenience for attendees.
Lastly, the DMD was authorized to add or amend agreements with the approved contractor pool for the Indianapolis Homeowner Repair Program, with a total funding limit of $2,000,000. This initiative aims to assist homeowners in maintaining and improving their properties.
