The City of Stuart is making significant strides toward the development of a new skate park, with plans to submit necessary permits by mid-August. During the recent joint meeting of the Stuart Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and Community Redevelopment Board (CRB), officials outlined a timeline that could see construction begin as early as August 2026.
The current focus is on finalizing plans for the skate park, with a submission to the South Florida Water Management District expected by August 14. This submission will kick off a lengthy review process, typically taking around 120 days. If all goes smoothly, the city anticipates receiving the necessary permits by December.
City officials are also coordinating with Florida Power & Light (FPL) to ensure all logistical details are addressed. Following the permit approval, the city plans to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) by March 2026, with contractor negotiations expected to begin in May. If the timeline holds, construction could commence in August 2026.
This skate park project is part of a broader initiative to enhance recreational facilities in the area, reflecting the city's commitment to providing engaging spaces for its residents. As plans progress, the community eagerly awaits the finalization of this exciting addition to Stuart's parks.
