The proposal seeks to change the zoning to N3E, which is intended for transitional areas in urban neighborhoods, allowing for better integration with the adjacent N1S zoning that supports the central terminal's employment center.
Moore explained that the proposed zoning change would facilitate further development of the site and provide a more suitable transition to the surrounding areas. Following the presentation, the floor was opened for public comments. Chris Harley, representing the Central Terminal Neighborhood Association, expressed support for the zoning amendment, emphasizing its importance for the proposed police training facility at the site.
