Under city regulations, certain businesses must be licensed to operate within Battle Creek, including those that perform door-to-door sales and construction work. Residents should be aware that these vendors can operate only between 9 AM and sunset. They are required to carry a city-issued vendor's permit and display an official ID badge. While these survey teams are not door-to-door sales vendors, they may knock on doors to request access to backyards for utility pole inspections.
