In a proud moment for the community, 14 students from the Elkhart area career center programs recently competed at the 2025 SkillsUSA national leadership and skills conference in Atlanta, Georgia. Among them, four students earned top ten finishes, with one achieving a commendable third place. This success underscores the district's commitment to vocational education and skill development.

The arts were also in the spotlight, as several Elkhart High School students showcased their musical talents as members of the Indiana All State Jazz Choir in Indianapolis. Their selection through a competitive audition process not only highlighted their individual skills but also reflected the strength of the district's music program.

As summer transitions to fall, the preparations for the marching band season are in full swing. Students can be seen practicing their percussion instruments across the high school campus, while beginning band and orchestra students are diligently honing their skills for the upcoming year.

In athletics, Elkhart High School football recently scrimmaged against two of the state's top programs, Hamilton Southeastern and Zionsville, at Indiana Wesleyan University. The athletes not only demonstrated their competitive spirit but also had the chance to tour the campus and enjoy recreational activities. Additionally, the launch of a girls flag football team marked a historic moment for the district, expanding athletic opportunities for students and fostering inclusivity.

Looking ahead, the district is gearing up for several key events, including the first annual Elkhart football night on July 25 and the first day of school on August 14.
