The City of Upland's Planning Commission has approved the development of a new 2,400 square foot drive-through Starbucks at the College Park Retail Centre, a decision that promises to enhance local amenities and support surrounding businesses. During the meeting on July 23, 2025, Jordan Reynolds, the business operations manager for College Park Veil Centre LP, presented the proposal, highlighting the demand for coffee shops in the area and the project's alignment with the College Park specific plan.
The approval included a conditional use permit (CUP) necessary for the drive-through component, which was deemed beneficial for the local community, particularly with the recent opening of a Tesla supercharger station nearby and the planned athletic fields to the north. The commission unanimously voted in favor of the project, with seven affirmative votes recorded.
Following the approval, the commission confirmed that there is a 10-day appeal period for the decision. The next item on the agenda involved further discussions on additional development plans, indicating ongoing growth and planning efforts within the city. This new Starbucks is expected to serve as a valuable addition to the neighborhood, catering to both residents and visitors alike.
