The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen has approved a significant project aimed at enhancing accessibility and safety at Town Hall. During the meeting on July 14, 2025, officials discussed plans to repave the parking area and upgrade ADA access points, which will include improvements at the front, rear, and east side of the building.

The project, originally proposed in the Fiscal Year 2022 Capital Improvement Plan, faced delays but has now been revived with a competitive bidding process. The lowest bid of $227,589.94 was awarded to Hollingsworth Paving, which is approximately $30,000 less than the initial estimate from three years ago. This reflects a positive trend in cost efficiency for the town.

The upgrades will not only repave the entire parking area but also incorporate essential ADA features, such as wider access aisles and improved crosswalk visibility. The project is expected to take 60 days from the notice to proceed, allowing ample time for the necessary concrete work and ensuring that all entrances are compliant with accessibility standards.

Board members expressed satisfaction with the bidding process, noting the strong interest from contractors and the close range of bids, which indicates a fair market price. The enhancements are seen as a vital step in making Town Hall more accessible for all residents, addressing community needs for improved public facilities.

With the approval secured, the town is set to move forward with the project, reinforcing its commitment to accessibility and community service.
