New leadership appointments took the spotlight at the St. Lucie County School Board meeting on July 8, 2025, as several educators were promoted to assistant principal positions across the district.
Courtney Ballantyne was introduced as the new assistant principal at Oak Hammock, with family members present to celebrate her achievement. Leticia Mostafa will take on the role at CA Moore, while Natasha Nicholas steps into the position at Treasure Coast Eye. Melissa Phillips Hill has been appointed as the assistant principal at Saint Louis US Centennial, and Dr. Shante Thomas will serve in the same capacity at Dale Cassens.
Additionally, Mandy Brown and Liz Marie Rivera were recognized for their new roles at Weatherby and Bayshore, respectively, despite their absence from the meeting.
Following the introductions, Dr. Ocampo provided an overview of the superintendent's performance goals for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, emphasizing the importance of voter approval for the renewal of the half-penny surtax as a key objective.
