Miami-Dade County's Charter Review Task Force is gearing up for a series of regional public meetings, with discussions centered on how to structure their upcoming schedule. During a recent meeting, members explored logistics, including the frequency and location of gatherings, as well as the topics to be covered.

The task force is not bound by a specific number of regional meetings, as clarified by legal counsel. The only requirement is to conduct public meetings across various regions of Miami-Dade County. This flexibility allows the task force to tailor their approach based on community needs and available resources.

With the county chambers undergoing renovations in August, the main library has been proposed as an alternative meeting venue. Task force members are encouraged to suggest meeting times and topics, with an emphasis on organizing discussions around specific chapters or constitutional offices.

One member raised a critical point about the need to structure meetings effectively to meet the November deadline for a draft report. The chair suggested following the previous task force's model, which organized meetings by dedicated topics.
