Brownsburg's Police Department is set to welcome new officers as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance community safety. During the recent Police Commission meeting on July 8, 2025, it was announced that three new recruits—Donna Davenport, Nathaniel Giblin, and Austin Hyde—are nearing the completion of their training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, with graduation scheduled for August 22. This marks a significant step as they prepare to transition into the full field training officer program, essential for their development as law enforcement professionals.
In addition to the recruits, Officer Chris Jones was sworn in on June 30. Jones, a former graduate of Brownsburg High School, brings local knowledge and a commitment to the community, having previously served with the Zionsville Police Department. His familiarity with the area is expected to enhance community relations.
The department is also preparing for the swearing-in of two more officers, Morgan Ettenberger and Kenneth McAlean, on July 14. This will bring the total number of sworn officers in the Brownsburg Police Department to 62, bolstering the department's capacity to serve and protect the community effectively.
These developments reflect the department's commitment to maintaining a well-staffed and trained police force, ensuring that officers are equipped to meet the needs of Brownsburg residents. The community is encouraged to attend the swearing-in ceremony to support the new officers as they embark on their law enforcement careers.
