The Templeton Parks and Recreation Department is gearing up for an exciting summer with the return of the Summer Playgroup, which has been steadily growing over the past three years. This year, the program promises to be bigger and better, offering a variety of activities designed to engage children and families in the community.

Starting July 8 and running through August, the Summer Playgroup will be held at Gilman Waite Park. The program is accessible to all, with a daily fee of just $5 per child, capped at $10 for families with multiple children. Parents can sign up their kids on-site without the need for pre-registration, allowing for flexibility in attendance.

The playgroup will feature a range of fun and educational activities, including art projects, STEM initiatives, and outdoor games. Highlights include the popular "Rocket Days," where children will build and launch rockets, and a "Tie Dye Day." There will also be sensory stations with Legos and bubbles, as well as sports activities like pickleball and basketball.

In addition to daily activities, the program will host a special event for National Play Outside Day and plans to organize a field trip to Red Apple Farm, cookie decorating sessions, and a family movie night in the fall. The Parks and Recreation Department encourages community involvement, inviting residents to volunteer, sponsor events, or donate supplies.
