Traffic concerns took center stage during the recent Flower Mound Planning and Zoning meeting, as residents voiced their experiences and worries about congestion and safety. One resident, who has frequented a local venue for over a decade, shared that despite the area's growth, he has rarely encountered significant traffic issues. "In my own experience, it's very, very less," he stated, emphasizing that visits typically involve only a few cars at a time, even during larger events.
However, not all feedback was positive. Robin Allen, a long-time resident, raised alarm over drainage issues affecting her property. She reported having already spent over $3,500 on damage caused by runoff from a nearby lot, expressing concern about the transition from vegetation to concrete and the potential for increased trash and drainage problems. "There is going to be a lot of drainage coming down through there," she warned, highlighting the need for careful consideration of environmental impacts in future developments.
The discussions reflect a community grappling with growth while balancing traffic management and environmental concerns. As Flower Mound continues to evolve, residents are keen to ensure that their voices are heard in shaping the future of their neighborhoods.
