Euless City Council unanimously approved a new hotel and townhome development during their June 24 meeting, signaling a significant step in local economic growth and housing expansion.

The council granted a specific use permit for a hotel at 901 West Airport Freeway, which will be rebranded as Red Roof Inn and Suites. This establishment, previously known as Regency Inn, aims to attract more clientele with its new name. The hotel will feature 55 guest rooms and has already seen an increase in staffing, now employing five full-time and three part-time workers. The council's approval came after a public hearing, where only one resident expressed opposition, highlighting the community's overall support for the project.

In addition to the hotel, the council also approved a planned development for 25 townhomes on a 3.147-acre site off Highway 360. This development will include private streets, two-car garages for each unit, and fenced backyards. The project aims to enhance the area with green spaces, including a dog park and ornamental trees, while adhering to the city’s property maintenance codes.

Both developments reflect Euless's commitment to improving local infrastructure and providing more housing options, as well as boosting the economy through increased tourism and residential growth. The council's decisions are expected to foster further improvements in the community, with the hotel already undergoing renovations to enhance its appeal.
