The City of Apopka Development Review Committee convened on June 18, 2025, to discuss the annexation of Palucci Acres, located east of Vic Road and southwest of Bongcan Road. The meeting was led by a representative in the absence of project manager Bobby Howell.

The primary focus of the meeting was the annexation of two parcels totaling approximately 40 acres that are currently situated in Orange County. Luke Classen from 1828 Engineering presented the proposal, explaining that the majority of the 617 acres involved in the project are already within city limits. The annexation aims to consolidate all properties under one jurisdiction to facilitate development.

Classen noted that a 10-foot strip of land would remain with the county, but the annexation has received support from county staff, who have issued a letter indicating they do not oppose the move. The annexation is expected to eliminate a small enclave in the southeast corner of the area, allowing for a more streamlined development process.

The committee's discussions highlighted the importance of this annexation in enhancing the city's ability to manage and develop the land effectively. Further steps will be taken to finalize the annexation and integrate the properties into the city’s planning framework.
