The Othello School District community came together to express gratitude and celebrate the contributions of its dedicated staff during a recent meeting on June 14, 2025. Superintendent Pete Perez led the acknowledgment of various individuals who have significantly impacted the school environment, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in supporting students.
Among those recognized were the Board of Directors, assistant principals, counselors, and office staff, all of whom play vital roles in the daily operations of the district. The heartfelt appreciation extended to teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, and kitchen staff highlighted the collaborative effort that fosters a nurturing educational atmosphere.
A special tribute was paid to retiring Dean of Athletics and Activities, Don Bullis, who has dedicated 42 years to education, with 30 of those years in Othello. His legacy of growth and relationships within the community was celebrated, marking the end of an era for the district.
Additionally, Mary Quesada, a custodian with 19 years of service, was honored for her unwavering commitment and care for students and staff. Her retirement signifies the loss of a beloved figure in the school community.
The meeting concluded with a heartfelt thank you to the students, reinforcing the district's commitment to providing a supportive and enriching environment for all.
